The Ukrainian Carpathians are lying in West Ukraine. The mountians are not as high as in Slovakia's High Tatras (Gerlachovský peak at 2655 m), but still get above 2000 meters.

In summer, the beginning of the carpathians offers great possibilites for walking, cycling etc. In winter, slopes open to ski.
